Abstract
A wide variety of pathologies could cause spastic paraplegia. It is often a diagnostic challenge to pinpoint its cause, especially when lacks other discriminating clinical features. Biochemical studies, especially very long-chain fatty acids (VLCFA), have invariably the ranges of estimates overlapping for both groups of patient and healthy control. Here we present a patient with uncomplicated spastic paraplegia who showed modest elevation of saturated VLCFA concentration.
